Welcome

We would like to welcome you to the Genbukan Fudoshin Dojo homepage. The Fudoshin Dojo, located in Huntsville, Alabama, was formed in 1993, and is a fully licensed dojo of the
Genbukan World Ninpo Bugei Federation and Kokusai Jujutsu Renmei.

Ninpo and Jujutsu are traditional Japanese martial arts that have developed over hundreds of years in actual combat to form a unique and effective method of self defense and preservation.  These arts are not sport martial arts intended for a tournament or a ring, but provide true self defense for anyone in all walks of life.  The three main areas of study are taijutsu/jujutsu (unarmed), bojutsu (staff), and bikenjutsu (sword) techniques. These ancient arts are taught in a strict and traditional manner as they were originally intended.  It is our sincere hope that you come join us for training in these wonderful martial arts.

The name Fudoshin, given to the dojo by
Grandmaster Shoto Tanemura, literally means "immoveable heart."  This means one is unwavering in mind and spirit, no matter what the circumstance.
